Black History Month

To celebrate Black History Month (BHM), assemblies have taken place over the past few weeks, led by Ms Ripley, Ms Whittham, Ms Wright and Dr Birkinshaw. The theme for Black History Month this year has been ‘reclaiming narratives’. This theme was chosen to correct the narratives of black cul-ture and to encourage us to shine a spotlight on the untold stories, the unsung heroes and the everyday individuals who have made an indelible impact on our communities.

Earlier this month, we also hosted a visit from a script writer, producer and director from a theatre company to talk to our students about the ways in which they pursued a career in drama, in order to celebrate BHM.
