MFL Awards

Nominated Key Stage 3 and Year 10 students, along with their families and friends attended the International Links and Languages Awards evening. The evening got off to a great start with Ben in Year 10 welcoming guests with some wonderful Spanish guitar music. The MFL team talked of the outstanding achievements of students this year, not only in their French and Spanish lessons but with the Film Club, Games Club, Languages XP and Pen Pal Scheme.

Mr Barton’s speech about the staff visits to Rouen and Santander was very inspiring and demonstrated the many links that exist between other subjects and languages. Mrs Walker was also presented with the International Schools Award by Mr Nicholls for her hard work in helping the school to achieve this. Guest speaker, Sonja Bernhard, who works in the Humanities faculty at the University of Manchester, shared her own experiences of learning languages and congratulated each and every student on their well-deserved awards. An enjoyable evening was had by all and well done to all of the award winners.
