Sporting Updates
• Congratulations to the Under 13 girls’ team (top left) who competed in the regional handball finals. The competition was intense with the girls playing five matches. Unbeaten in every game, they were crowned North West champions! They have now qualified for the national finals and we wish them the best of luck.
• Our Year 7 cricket team played in the Lancashire Cup last week against Hollingworth Academy. It was a very close match, with the team unfortunately losing 36 runs to 37 – however every player was outstanding on the day!
• Our Year 11 girls (see header above) worked hard in the Manchester Schools’ PE netball cup final against Withington Girls’ School. It was a close game, with only 1 goal in it for the 1st and 2nd quarters. There was a great team effort from every player, with strong defence and superb shooting, enabling Trinity to win the match 31-20.
• Well done to the Trinity rugby team (bottom right) who played in the Salford festival last week. The scores were; Trinity 3-3 Wellacre, Trinity 4-0 Walkden, Trinity 3-3 St Ambrose, Trinity 2-2 Irlam, Trinity 3-0 Laurus Ryecroft. The team have now made it through to the finals.
