UKMT Senior Maths Challenge
From Assistant Head of Maths, Ms Williams:
“Last month, it was fantastic to see many of our A-Level mathematicians sitting the UKMT Senior Maths Challenge. This is the most senior level of the challenge and presents students with unseen mathematical conundrums that require deep problem-solving skills, so congratulations to all the students that participated.
Numerous students were awarded with certificates of achievement this year. A special mention must go to Rithvik in Year 12 and Kevin in Year 13 who gained a gold certificate and have therefore qualified for the next round of the competition called the Andrew Jobbings Senior Kangaroo. This is an incredible achievement, well done!
The experience provides students with invaluable preparation for their next steps after completing A-Levels. Looking ahead, we’re excited to see four of our Year 12 students represent the school at the Senior Team Challenge Regional Finals at the University of Manchester. Students in Years 7-11 will have the opportunity to take part in the UKMT Junior and Intermediate Challenges in 2026 – further details will be shared closer to the date.”
