Student Hallé Success!

From Director of Music, Mrs Madden:

“Congratulations to our amazingly talented Sixth Formers, Elizabeth Y12 and Vinchy Y13. Both students have been awarded a place in the prestigious Hallé Youth Orches-tra, Elizabeth on French Horn and Vinchy on Oboe. The girls attend rehearsals every Sunday afternoon alongside the best young musicians in Manchester, and are currently working towards a performance of Shostakovich’s epic Symphony No.5 on Sunday 7th December – tickets can be purchased on the Bridgewater Hall website. Elizabeth is also a member of Stockport Youth Orchestra and Vinchy has received a national Future Talent award, as well as being a member of the National Youth Orchestra! We are so proud of them and we can’t wait to watch their musical careers unfold!”
