Year 7 Exploring Christianity Retreat

Last weekend a number of our Year 7 students spent two days in the Peak District on our ‘Exploring Christianity Retreat’. The group left early Friday morning and headed off for a day of adventurous activities, led by professional outdoor activity guides, which the students found challenging and greatly enjoyable. For the evening and overnight, students stayed at the historic YHA Hartington Hall where Sarah and Pete, our guest speakers from Holy Trinity Platt, facilitated our Exploring Christianity sessions. After a somewhat condensed night’s sleep (!) the students headed off for a day walk in the hills around Hartington followed by a stop at the shops in Bakewell.

The retreat went very well, and students reflected on what was a fun, challenging and thought-provoking time away. Our thanks go to Mrs Farndon and our Chaplain, Revd Dr Birkinshaw.
