Year 9 Options

A message from our Director of Studies, Mr Johnson:
“Students in Year 9 will soon be making important decisions about the subjects which they will continue to study in Years 10 and 11.
In previous years, we have invited parents and students into school for an ‘Options Evening’ event to explain this process.  As this is not possible this year,  we are running the whole options process online on the Trinity school website.
All Key Stage 4 students will study a Core Curriculum of English Language, English Literature, Mathematics, RE and Combined Science (Biology, Chemistry and Physics for two GCSE grades). Most students will also study three additional courses – we call these courses “options”.
If you are a parent making appointments for the Parents’ Consultation Evening on Wednesday, 20th January, 2021, please use this opportunity to speak to teachers of the subjects that your child is interested in continuing to study.
On Tuesday, 26th January, 2021, the Year 9 Options section of the website will launch, and parents will be able to access detailed information about the courses that we have on offer.  A choices form must be completed online by 12:00 midday on Friday, 29th January, 2021.”
