Young Writers Club visit the Lowry
From LRB & Media Manager, Mr Richardson:
“On Monday of last week, 29 of our students joined schools from across the region at the Lowry for the First Story Young Writers Festival NORTH.
The day featured a talk from creator of the Sad Ghost Club graphic novels, Lize Meddings (Zea in Y9 was on the interview panel), workshops with the professional writers (two of whom were once students at Trinity), creative careers insights, a book market and author signings. Proceedings closed with a showcase which some of our young writers took the stage to share their creations.

This group meet weekly with our writer-in-residence, Nik Berry. They’re hard at work on a 16-week programme writing a book which will be published at the end of the summer term – Trinity’s third! Besides becoming published authors, they’ll have the opportunity to visit the University of Cambridge in late April, and one student could follow in the footsteps of Sam W and Eliana O and win a place on a week-long writing residential in the summer.”
