A Reflection for Epiphany

A message from our Chair of Governors, Revd Prof Peter Scott:
A Reflection for Epiphany
Just when we thought this academic year could not get any stranger…we get another lockdown. Our third, I think, but then who’s counting? In this Epiphany season, the period from Christmas to early February, we continue to celebrate the new-born Jesus as a light to the nations as well as Israel and a beacon to whom the wise men are drawn. He is also a wonderful gift to Simeon and Anna who have waited long in the temple at Jerusalem to see the messiah. Simeon and Anna stand for us, I guess. During Epiphany, we celebrate that God’s light gets into every nook and cranny, even deep into the temple to find Simeon and Anna. Light, Jesus, action: locked down as we are, the light still gets through. With this thought, I send my good wishes to every member of the Trinity community at this demanding time.
