Advent Carol Service at St Ann’s Church
On Friday 2nd December, the school was once again privileged to be welcomed to St Ann’s Church in the centre of Manchester for our Advent Carol Service. The theme for the service was ‘Mary accepts the call to be the Mother of God’, and our school choirs and music ensembles brought an exceptional offering of songs and musical items. All who attended were impressed with the quality of performances, which also included a number of solo items, and enjoyed singing Advent carols and sharing in readings and prayers. The service concluded with the annual blessing of the crib in St Ann’s Square, alongside a few verses of ‘O Little Town of Bethlehem’ accompanied by the brass groups. The service was led by our School Chaplain, Revd Dr Birkinshaw, and special thanks goes to Mrs Madden, our Director of Music.
