Industrial Cadets Gold Project
From Head of Engineering, Mr Barnes:
“A team of year 12 Engineers from Trinity Sixth Form went to the University of Liver-pool as part of their ‘Industrial Cadets, Gold Project’.
The team are working on a Civil Engineer-ing project about storm water overflow treatment. Part of this project involves a fantastic opportunity to spend two days working in the engineering department of the university.

During the two days, our team progressed their design solution from the initial ideas stage, to a scale model that clearly demonstrates how storm overflow water could be treated in a real-life context. The students are also work-ing with professional engineers from Mott Macdonald and Bentley on their design. They will continue to devel-op their project throughout this year and will hopefully receive their Gold Awards in the Summer term.
Aswell as working hard on their engineering project, the students also managed to fit in a visit to the Metropolitan Cathedral in Liverpool, which in itself is a fantastic piece of modern engineering.”
