Initial Teacher Education

From Lead Practitioner (Science) and Professional Mentor at Trinity, Ms Russell: “The University of Manchester has awarded Trinity CE High school with a gold plaque, recognising us as an ‘Outstanding Partnership School’ for Initial Teacher Education. We have a superb team of committed subject mentors across the school who help support new colleagues entering the profession. We also support the university on their secondary PGCE committee and colleagues take part in the trainee recruitment process itself too.”

Following a recent quality assurance visit from Keith Parry, OBE, University of Manchester, he gave us the following feedback: “I visit almost 40 schools and colleges each year to meet with the Professional Mentor and, where possible, subject mentors and trainees.  It is no exaggeration to say to you that the provision and support for trainees which you are able to provide at Trinity are amongst the best I see each year. I was very impressed to see the gold wall plaque and feel it is thoroughly deserved.”

Well done to Ms Russell (pictured above with trainee teachers Ms DeMaine (Science) and Ms Moloney (English) and all staff involved in achieving this recognition.
