National Pi Day
National ‘Pi Day’ is celebrated on 14th March each year, and to mark the occasion, our maths department held a special competition for students (and some staff!). Participants were asked to play the ‘number round’ from Countdown. Equipped with white boards and pens, everyone had just 30 seconds to reach the target number. Well done to Xanico in Year 9 for being our Countdown winner! In usual tradition, this was followed by seeing who could recite Pi to the most decimal places. The winner was Ben in Year 9 who recited Pi to a record 187 places. Congratulations to Ben on this very impressive achievement!
