Road Safety
Last week, a group of Year 7 students were invited to attend an event at the University of Manchester entitled “Sharing the Road Safely”, with their maths teacher, Mr Scott, aimed at raising awareness of road safety. Head of Maths, Mr Scott, tells us more:
“The students were excellent ambassadors for the school. They had the opportunity to sit in a HGV and see all of the blind spots that a driver has. They were given a talk on a Road Traffic Accident and how it could have been avoided. They were also shown a driving simulator to highlight the dangers of using the road. In addition, they were given free bicycle lights and Hi-Vis jackets to wear whilst riding their bikes. One student, Mayuri Kshirsagar said that she really appreciated the advice she was given as she cycles to school regularly.”
