Speakers for Schools

As part of the ‘Speakers for Schools’ initiative, we were delighted to welcome Louisa Compton, Commissioning Editor of Dispatches, Channel 4 News, to Trinity at the end of last term. Louisa spoke to over 100 students in Year 10 about her experiences as a journalist, working both for Channel 4 and BBC, in the UK and abroad. Students had the opportunity to ask questions and were fascinated by her experiences of Guantanamo Bay and Zimbabwe. Following the talk, students gave the following feedback:

  • “Louisa talked about other problems of the world that we fail to see.”
  • “Journalists actually have an interesting life and some things are very intriguing”
  • “Louisa gave me a different perspective.”
  • “I like how Louisa actually wanted to know what young people thought.”
