UKMT Intermediate Maths Challenge

From Assistant Head of Maths, Ms Williams:

“On Wednesday 28th January, it was wonderful to see so many of our students taking part in the UKMT Intermediate Maths Challenge – with a record number participating this year. The competition presents a range of mathematical problems that encourages careful thinking and problem solving. Well done to everyone who took part and approached the challenge with such enthusiasm.

We are very pleased to celebrate this year’s achievements, with students earning 10 Gold, 12 Silver and 15 Bronze certificates. Congratulations to Daniel A, David O and William D (Year 9), and Emmanuel A, Francis M and Maryam A (Year 11), who achieved particularly high scores and have qualified for the next round of the competition, the Pink and Grey Kangaroo, which takes place on Thursday 19th March. This is a fantastic accomplishment.

Looking ahead, students in Years 7 and 8 will have the opportunity to take part in the UKMT Junior Maths Challenge on Wednesday 29th April. More information about how to get involved will be shared closer to the date.”
