Year 12 Biology Trip
Dr Alnuamaani, Dr Garg and Mr Johnson recently accompanied our Year 12 A Level Biology students on their annual field trip, providing an excellent opportunity to bring classroom learning to life.
As part of their Ecology Unit, students developed their understanding of sampling techniques and explored interactions within ecosystems through a range of practical fieldwork activities. A highlight of the trip was a visit to Mawbury Sands, where students investigated ecological succession and the development of sand dune systems. During their time there, they also successfully completed two of their required practical assessments.
Alongside the academic programme, students enjoyed a range of adventurous activities, including rock climbing and Ghyll scrambling, which helped to build confidence, resilience and teamwork skills.
The trip was both educational and enjoyable, and a fantastic week was had by all involved.
