Black History Month
Under the umbrella of our ‘Trinity Together’ initiative, we have been celebrating Black History Month during October. Assemblies have been led by Ms Ripley (Lead Practitioner: Diversity Equality and Inclusion), Mr Dennis (Pastoral Tutor) and Mr Pritchard (Course Director of KS3 History). We also had a poetry quiz in the LRB last week. Students were invited to take part by reading poems by black poets, and answering a series of questions. Congratulations to the following students who scored a fantastic 10/10!
- Year 7 – Brian, Ayomide, Jacob, Honour and Gabriel.
- Year 8 – Aleksandra and Rennee.
Other ways we are celebrating Black History Month (BHM) in school include:
- A BHM inspired book recommendations list for students, compiled by teacher of English, Ms Burton.
- BHM displays around the school, that are linked to individual departments and black Mancunians.
- A range of resources available for students through Show My Homework.
