RNCM Anniversary Concert
From Director of Music, Mrs Madden:
“A record 220 pupils performed at our annual RNCM Anniversary Concert on the 1st April, with a wonderfully supportive sold-out crowd. The students ranging from Year 7–Year 13 performed an amazing array of music and showcased their talents in four different Choirs, Orchestra, Stage Band, Guitar Group, Steel Pans and smaller ensembles such as Woodwind, Brass and Senior Strings.

For the first time, we had a massed string ensemble playing Largo from The New World Symphony by Dvorak and it was so encouraging to see over 50 young musicians playing violin, viola, cello and bass! Year 10 and Year 11 Band skills had the whole house rocking with songs by The Smiths, Weezer, Blondie and Bon Jovi, and the Sixth Form Singers performed a moving rendition of the a cappella Celtic song about fond farewells, The Parting Glass.

Thirty-five Year 11’s received a certificate for their musical contribution during their time at Trinity and special awards were presented to our Year 13’s, including Outstanding Contribution to Music and the Performing Arts for Leila A and Chara Q. The whole evening ended joyfully with everyone dancing and singing along to our Finale of Ain’t No Mountain High Enough.

Congratulations to all performers and many thanks to those who came along to support, including our esteemed guests.”
