Debate Mate Cup Competition
From English Teacher, Ms Brierley-Rimmer:
“On the last week of term, three Trinity teams competed in the all-day Debate Mate Cup Competition at the University of Manchester.
All teams won at least one debate and exhibited respect, confidence and critical thinking; the varied topics discussed included infrastructure in the city and the relevance of cinema. For the second year in a row, our first team competed in the Grand Final, debating whether political parties should have to call new elections after broken manifesto pledges.
The judges noted the impressive style of our speakers and the range of relevant ideas displayed, crowning Trinity the overall winners of the competition! Congratulations on another win, and the continued excellence you have all shown in your dedication and enthusiasm to debating.”
