Remembering Mr Cornick

The Trinity community was truly shocked and saddened by the unexpected passing of Mr Cornick last half term. On Thursday, 17th December, 2020, Mr Cornick’s funeral took place and the occasion was marked in school with a memorial assembly and reading in form rooms, to honour Mr Cornick’s love of literature.
At approximately 12.40pm on this day, the funeral cortege went by school, with staff and students lining Higher Cambridge Street in a socially distanced manner to pay their respects to their colleague, friend, and teacher. Balloons were released, there was music from the steel pan band and a minute of applause took place in all classrooms in celebration of his life.
The family will shortly be presented with the memory book, collating all of the messages and photos that were submitted online. Two outstanding pieces of artwork were also presented to Mr Cornick’s family that were completed by our two extremely talented teachers of art, Ms Hutchinson and Mr Tran.
Mr Cornick’s family have given thanks to the Trinity community for their support during this extremely difficult time and said “the school made Rob’s final journey past Trinity a massive celebration of his life. It is something none of us who will ever forget, it was emotional and uplifting at the same time.”
