Superhero Scientist Reading Project
We were delighted to welcome Dr Hamied Haroon, a Research Associate in Biomedical Magnetic Resonance Imaging at the University of Manchester. Dr Haroon came in to speak to two Year 7 classes about his work with MRI machines and the importance of not allowing a disability to hold you back. Dr Haroon is part of the Superhero Scientists Reading Project, aiming to help improve literacy and reading levels in school. Our Year 7 students asked some thought provoking questions and were intrigued to hear about Dr Haroon’s challenges of undertaking a bungee jump in a wheelchair! Thank you to Mr Cummings, Ms Russell and Ms Ragunathan for organising the visit.
