The Royal Seal of Approval

On Friday, 12th January, we were honoured to welcome His Royal Highness, Prince Edward, the Earl of Wessex, to Trinity CE High School. The Earl’s visit was to recognise the outstanding work that is done at Trinity through the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.

The morning began with the Earl attending a special breakfast at Gorton Monastery for supporters of the award. At the breakfast, Year 10 Trinity student, Dylan Creighton, met the Earl and gave a wonderful speech to all those in attendance about his experience of the award.

Following the breakfast, the Earl arrived at Trinity and was greeted by our very excited and enthusiastic Year 7 and 8 students! After I welcomed the Earl, he spoke to our students outside whilst listening to our steel pan band. More details about the Earl’s visit can be found on the inside pages.
