A Level Biology

Course Information

Biology is the science of life.

It is concerned with the characteristics and behaviours of organisms, how species and individuals come into existence, and the interactions they have with each other and with their environment.

Understanding Biology is understanding life itself.

Students who study Biology often take A Level Chemistry, as the two subjects support each other.

Many students also include an A Level in another related discipline such as Maths, Psychology, or Physics.

Please note that there is a compulsory residential trip at the end of Year 12 included in this course. There is a financial cost to this, however generous support is available at school if students meet certain criteria.

Course Content

Topics Include:

  • The function of biological molecules
  • Cell structure and immunity
